Reflecting On Your Success With The Pantry Challenge For Beginners
Day 14: How Have You Become EMPOWERED?
Wow! Congratulations on joining us for this Pantry Challenge for Beginners. A 14 day adventure that has helped you conquer your kitchen. You have been able to clean and organize it completely from top to bottom.
Also, you’ve been able to do some Pantry Inventory. As a result, you were able to sit down and put together a 7 day meal plan for your family’s dinners, based on items you found at home. And then you went on to prepare those 7 meals throughout this past week.
For many of you, this is a huge accomplishment! You struggle everyday with the overwhelm of life, so the idea of doing a Pantry Challenge has always been intimidating. But this gentler, self-paced bite-sized approach has helped EMPOWER you towards a HOPE and a FUTURE.
Imagine it! Now that you have cleaned and organized your kitchen, you have it at a stage to keep it under control for the future. Check out these tips to help you do that.
My Personal Reflection
Personally, it took me about 3 weeks to complete all of the projects in this challenge. That is because the busyness of real life and other commitments do take precedence over cleaning.
However, I found it enlightening to discover just how disorganized my cupboards had become. As well, I was shocked to see how much I was actually able to downsize out of them every day that I did do a section. I feel EMPOWERED now towards a HOPE and a FUTURE, to continue to do bite-sized projects in other areas of my home too. How about you?
As for the cleaners—I did find that ordinary dish soap and hot water worked best on cleaning my cupboards. I did try to clean a small section with the Vinegar/Water Floor Cleaner, however, I did not find that it cleaned the cupboard surfaces as well. Although the Vinegar/Water Floor Cleaner did an awesome job on cleaning the floors, I don’t recommend it for cleaning the cupboards. I would suggest that it might work good on the stove top for quick clean ups. Or for even wiping down the surface of the refrigerator.
I found this Pantry Challenge for Beginners to have been a worthwhile endeavor just for me personally, that I will be doing another one in the fall. Before we have to stock up cupboards for the winter months. Will you join me then too? I hope so.
And if you’ve never done a Pantry Challenge such as this before, rest assured, this was the hardest one. Now that you’ve conquered your Pantry and Kitchen areas thoroughly, the next time will be a lot easier.
However, cleaning the refrigerator, stove, and freezer will be done before fall. So, look for a mini-challenge before summer kicks in to tackle those areas.
There were several areas that were covered in this Challenge. Projects that helped you with:
- Wastage and Decluttering
- to Meal Planning and Cooking
What was your favorite part of the Pantry Challenge? Was there an area that you struggled with the most? What was it?
