Multi Bean Simmered Soup
Slow cookers can make a multitude of meals, beverages, and even desserts. However, they seem to be most closely associated with the idea of making stews and soups. And for a very good reason too.
Multi Bean Simmered Soup is slowly cooked on LOW for an 8 hour period. This allows the beans to cook to perfection while retaining the meat and vegetable juices and flavors.
Your slow cooker and the Multi Bean Simmered Soup are a great way to end an otherwise stressful day in a calming way. Come home to a meal ready to be served up.
Can Be Made In 1 Or 2 Steps
I made this in 2 steps by starting with just the beans in the slow cooker after breakfast. Then after lunch, I added the rest of the ingredients. In this way, the items were all cooked at dinner time.
However, if your day is crazy busy, and you may not be home at lunch, you can easily just add all of the ingredients in 1 step. Then, once again, dinner will be ready when you get home.
This is perfect for those cooler autumn days when you need something warm and comforting. A good simmered soup is definitely a comfort food.
The simplicity, ease and low cost in making this soup is another great reason to add it to your recipe collection.

Advice On Meal Making
When Barry first started out on his own as a bachelor, his mother gave him some very good advice.
“Anyone can learn to cook. But the biggest thing to remember is:
- if you cook something a certain way and it doesn’t taste good, then don’t cook it that way again.”
Profoundly simple, but very true. Keep trying new things and new ways to spice them up until you find the way you like them.
After all, your taste buds aren’t the same as mine. You might enjoy hot and spicy foods. I don’t so much anymore. So even with the recipes I post on here, don’t be confined to just cooking it my way. Experiment and make the meal your own.
