Instructions
  1. Peel and core the apples, cut into chunks.
  2. Toss the apples in a bowl with the salt and cinnamon.
  3. In the bottom of the crock pot, mix brown and white sugar. Spread this evenly on the bottom.
  4. Layer the apples on top of the sugar.
  5. Mix the crumble topping together in a bowl, using your fingertips to distribute the butter evenly and thoroughly. Sprinkle it over top of the apples.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 4 hours.
  7. Turn off the heat, unplug and let sit, undisturbed for 1 hour. During this time the caramel will thicken a bit more.
  8. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
