Crock Pot Apple Crumble
We love sharing your recipes too!
Because who else knows how to make delicious foods for families on limited budgets than you! These are my favorite type of recipes, those created in ordinary kitchens by regular people just like you and me.
I don’t know about you, but I’m not drawn to those photo perfect chef creations, made with ingredients I haven’t even heard of. I’m always on the hunt for recipes that you and I can make that are:
- delicious (of course!)
- use ordinary ingredients
- time savers
- and even make great leftovers, if there are any 😉
Today’s recipe comes to us from Georgie Faris. She and I met recently at a local coffee shop where I do my blogging from. (Yes, I blog from a coffee shop with free wifi service because we can’t afford to pay for internet service at home).
As we talked and Georgie asked me questions about Free Stuff 4 Daily Needs, inevitably the conversation came around to the topic of food.
I was telling her about my cookbooks and the desire to help people on tight budgets to put real food on their tables. And I also shared the fact that I was working on a new project, the 30 Day Crock Pot Challenge.
It was during that part of our conversation that she said that she had this awesome tasting Apple Crumble recipe that it is baked in a crock pot. Georgie said that she often doubles the amounts in the recipe and still gets superb delicious results. Within days, she had emailed me this delicious recipe. So, here it is for you too!
Well, I don’t know about you, but my “go to” comfort foods are desserts. Yeah, I know, not great for the waist line, but, oh, they are so good.
And this Crock Pot Apple Crumble recipe is no exception. Comfort food that is perfect in the fall when apples are just beginning to be harvested, or any time of the year.
By making this in the crock pot, you can be left to go outside and enjoy the weather by either raking the yard, or taking a leisurely walk with the kids and hubby. Either way, you know that when you return you just have to turn the crock pot off and allow this to finish the carmalize process while you get dinner ready.
After dinner, you have this special treat—Crock Pot Apple Crumble to serve. To everyone’s delight of course. And whether you choose to top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream or just a drizzle of cream over top, your family will gobble this up.
So, today, enjoy this recipe from Georgie Faris, a supporter of Free Stuff 4 Daily Needs. A lady who also knows about financial struggles and making ends meet.
But even in the hard times, everyone deserves a treat.
