Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Place oven rack in the middle.
  2. Grease an 8 x 8 inch square baking pan.
  3. Combine 1 cup of cold water with 4 Tablespoons of powdered milk powder. Stir well and set aside.
  4. In a small dish, crack the egg, and beat lightly with a fork.
  5. In a large bowl, with a wire whisk, combine the flour, cornmeal, 2 Tablespoons white sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Add the beaten egg, milk, and canola oil. Continue to mix with the wire whisk until well blended.
  7. Spoon the mixture into the greased 8 x 8 inch baking dish.
  8. Place a layer of McIntosh apple slices all over the top of the cornbread.
  9. In a small dish, combine 2 Tablespoons of white sugar with the 1 teaspoon of Apple Bake Spice or Ground Cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly all over the sliced apples.
  10. Place the baking dish into the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
  11. Remove from the oven and place on a wire cooling rack. Cut the Canadian McIntosh Apple Cinnamon Cornbread into 16 portions. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream on top.
