How To Budget For Christmas
There are many expenses to consider including in your Christmas budget. From the:
- and of course, the gifts.
When you struggle financially, this time of year can quickly become a time of depression rather than celebration.
The enormous financial pressures put upon you by huge marketing corporations can be unbearable. Remember these businesses are not truly interested in you finding the perfect gift. Rather their goal is to make the biggest year end profit for their already rich shareholders.
How do we stop the madness?
One home at a time. Starting with yours, you can take back the Christmas season and put it into its proper perspective. You can start today with rethinking your Christmas budget.
Be EMPOWERED towards a HOPE and a FUTURE as a result.
The Christmas Season Is….
Quite simply the Christmas season is to be a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. His birthday party.
Do you remember His humble birth? He was born and placed in a manger, being a food bin for farm animals. Nothing fancy, nothing extravagant, and I imagine even smelly from all of the farm animals.
So when and why did celebrating His birth go from a time of quiet reflection to a time where corporations make huge profits off of you?
Don’t be afraid to trim back Christmas starting this year. Refocus on the true meaning of Christmas and cherish moments with your family instead.
If your children are small this will be easier because if a simpler Christmas is their normal, they will never know the difference. However, if you and your family have been caught in the financial trap of Christmas for years, this will be more of a challenge. So for you this may be a journey of a few years to trim and rethink your celebrations.
When it comes to the gifts, are you feeding the “wants and greed” of your family members, or reflecting on the true meaning of “joy and contentment”?
Happy Birthday, Jesus!
Begin With A Financial Revolution
Start a Christmas financial revolution in your Christmas budget. You will be surprised at how you can save money and discover the deeper meaning of Christmas.
And if you don’t have many dollars to spare at any time of the year, let alone Christmas, you need to start a financial revolution. How much of your spending is influenced by marketing strategies rather than your genuine needs?
- clothes (not the entire clothing department)
- and of course, food.
Let’s look at the “wants”. You will hear that word several times over the next few months. “Mom, I want…….”
Do your children truly “need” all the items they “want”? Probably not.
- Just how many toys do your children already have?
- Do they actually play with them all?
- Or are they just items that clutter the house and are tripping hazards?
