Define Your Perfect Morning
Today by asking you some thought provoking questions, you will define your perfect morning.
Your perfect morning will be unique to you. No two readers will have the same answers or definition of a perfect morning.
So, let’s delve in and start exploring your answers to these questions. Because at the conclusion, you will find EMPOWERMENT towards a HOPE and a FUTURE.
What’s Most Important?
You need to determine what is most important to you. By getting a clear idea of the importance you will be able to more clearly define and prioritize.
Before you begin, grab a pen and paper and jot things down as you progress through these questions. Don’t worry about it, but you may need to come back to these questions more than once. Especially if you’ve never stopped to ask yourself questions like these before.
This is an inner investigation exercise. It is a personal, individual journey. So, grab your pen and paper and start writing as you seek to define your perfect morning.
Begin by asking yourself:
- What is most important to you?
- Is there one thing that you really want to do on a daily basis?
- Define that thing that would make a big difference, but you just never seem to find the time for.
- In short, what good habit do you want to cultivate that would make a real impact on your life?
What Area Of Your Life?
Think about this for a moment. It could be in any area of your life from:
- healthy eating
- to self-improvement
- or getting ahead in business or at your job.
- It could be working on your relationship with your kids,
- finding time for creative pursuits,
- or getting in the habit of reading every morning.
Jot down any of these ideas and areas of your life that are important. As you proceed, you’ll be better able to define which are the most important.
My Perfect Morning Is…….
Once you’ve figured out these 3 things:
- what you want to work on
- things to improve
- the importance to you
The next step is having you look at your current morning routine. What can be shifted and adjusted to allow you do those things that are important to you?
So, sit back, grab your coffee, and dream for a moment. Imagine what your perfect morning would look like to you. Sure, life always happens and things don’t always go as planned, but just for a moment, think about it. Get that pen and paper ready and write this down.
My perfect morning is……….
- it isn’t stressed
- I’m not rushed
- a day when there is enough time to get everything done on my list
- ahhh, a long shower, uninterrupted
- going for a run or brisk walk before breakfast
- time to connect one on one with my spouse over coffee
- or having that first hour, when creative juices are flowing at their best to work on that new book
- start the day with God
- anything important to you
That’s a lot of “maybes” but the key is to start with what’s most important to you and think about how you could fit it into your morning routine. Remember, you’re just dreaming and imagining at this point. We’ll work on figuring out where to find the time to fit it in and how to make it all work out later on. For now I simply want you to paint a vivid picture of what your new morning could look like.
Have You Got A Clearer Picture?
I want you to become very clear on what you want that perfect morning to look like. Imagine it in as much detail as you possibly can. Write it down on a piece of paper that you can refer back to as needed. In short, define your perfect morning.
This process may take some time. So come back and look at these questions again and again. Add things, remove things, better define things.
Keep doing this until you have a clearer picture on how you define your perfect morning. But, also, because some of you might be super detail oriented or the other extreme, the procrastinator, give yourself a time limit.
Within the next 7 days, finish the thought process, writing down, and making a definition. Remember, everything in life is always changing, and so will this definition. But for the moment, you need a place to start.
Determine what is important to you and why.
You can’t start to make any meaningful changes until you know what your goals are. You need to know your destination before you can start to pick a route and figure out how you’ll get there. That’s what today’s task is all about. It’s figuring out where you want to get to.
Don’t stop until you have it figured out and firmly pictured in your mind. But come up with some definition within the next 7 days. Remember, this isn’t carved in stone, only on paper. This is about showing you ways to be EMPOWERED towards a HOPE and a FUTURE.
